This is how you get yourself and your children to draw
You have probably heard it before:
I don’t know what to draw.
I can’t draw.
It doesn’t work out the way I want it to…

Children who don’t want to draw.
Maybe you say it yourself.
Maybe it holds you back in your creative activities.

Somewhere along the way, you’ve picked up the idea
That you’re not a good drawer.
That you can’t do it right.
That it should be different.
That it’s not good enough.
That you’re not good enough.

Drawing is a form of self expression.
A way to communicate.
Unconsciously, but not without meaning.
Through colour, line, shape, symbol, theme.
Bringing out what is going on inside.

Super exciting.
Certainly when you’ve experienced,
that showing your inner self to the world was not ok.

Ouch!

When you look at drawing in that way;
‘letting your inner self come out’
Then isn’t it crazy that we attach a label to it?

Who decides what is good and what is not?

Drawing can be so much fun and relaxing!

By drawing with pleasure yourself,
children around you will also enjoy drawing more.

Let your inner self out
Enjoy creating (again).

Most people, who draw again after a long time, say:

“Wow, I had forgotten how much I enjoy this!
I found it a bit scary to start again,
but it’s such a pleasure to do!”

Well, I can imagine,
that such an empty sheet is too much to start with.

That is why I have listed some tips to help you.

Tip 1. Try a smaller approach
A small sheet of paper (A6 or smaller) and put a dot.
That’s it.
Just that dot.
Look at it and feel if you want to add something.
If so; do it.
If not; fine.

Tip 2. Scratch
Start scratching. Don’t let it become recognisable.
Just do.

Tip 3. Dots
Take a leaf and make dots. As many as you want.
Then draw lines between the dots in your own way.
Maybe you see something appear?
Or do you want to colour the spaces in between?

Tip 4. Drawing book
Use a drawing book.
Just to get going again.
To feel how nice it is to be busy.

As you can see:
You can get started!
Low profile 😉
At home and at work.

I wish you to create for yourself again.

Have fun drawing!

Lots of love,
